Announced live this morning on the ����ɬ Editorial Desk podcast, Brazeau’s LS-swapped Infiniti G35 edged out Peter Diaz’s meticulously restored Toyota Corolla AE86 in a battle that perfectly captured the spirit of the competition - innovation versus timeless craftsmanship. With the win, Brazeau not only claims the coveted title but also secures a spot at SEMA, a ����ɬ cover feature, and the ultimate bragging rights in the scene. After a nail-biting run to the top of Tuner Battlegrounds Championship Season 12 presented by LiquiMoly, we finally have our top 2, who will be competing over the course of the next week for the top spot to be crowned the 12th ever Tuner Battlegrounds Champion! Kicking off Stage 5 will be the battle between Peter Diaz with his incredibly timeless AE86 resto-mod build, and Jordyn Brazeau with his LS-swapped, widebody Infiniti G35.

We've seen both of these competitors rise to the occassion over the past few weeks, and with immense support behind both builders, it's still anyone's game.

It's been a series of battles for the ages in Tuner Battlegrounds Season 12, presented by Liqui Moly. We've seen underdogs rise to the occasion, teams go head to head with each other, and builders enlist support from far and wide. After watching things boil down from the Top 16 to our Top 4 over two weeks, we've never been less sure of who has the competitive edge from here on out - it's truly anyone's game! New school, old school, super wide, and OE body lines - this Top 4 has it all.

If you're into the Tuner Battlegrounds scene, you may have noticed a strange trend in ����ɬ's Tuner Battlegrounds competition that we can't help but notice as well: Orange cars seem to be cursed. No matter how great the modifications, or how impressive the performance, orange cars just can't seem to catch a break. This phenomenon occurs every year, and it's something we're interested in. So what's going on here?

First of all, it's important to note that this isn't a scientific phenomenon, but rather something funny we noticed. There's no real evidence to suggest that orange cars are actually cursed, and it's entirely possible that the whole thing is just a coincidence. However, it is true that orange cars have historically struggled in the Tuner Battlegrounds competition.

One theory is that orange is just an unpopular color in the tuner community. While there are certainly some orange cars out there that look amazing - and we can name a few - it's not a color that everyone can pull off. It's a bold choice that requires a certain level of confidence and creativity to really make work, and definitely requires a cohesive theme to the build. Some people might be drawn to more nuanced colors, and might be less likely to vote for an orange car simply because they don't like the bright look.

Another possibility is that the color orange just doesn't photograph well. In a competition like Tuner Battlegrounds, where voters are primarily seeing the cars online or in photos, it's important for the car to look impressive in pictures. Orange can be a tricky color to capture accurately, and if the photos don't do the car justice, it might not attract as many votes as it deserves.

Of course, there's also the chance that it really is just a coincidence. There's no mystical force out there actively working against orange cars, despite the longstanding history of orange cars getting their TBG runs cut short. It's entirely possible that the cars themselves - or the owners - just haven't been quite as impressive as their competitors online.

While there may not be a definitive answer to why orange cars seem to struggle in Tuner Battlegrounds competition, it's still an interesting phenomenon to think about. If you're thinking about entering your own car in the competition, you might want to consider a different color just in case. But if orange is your thing, don't let this superstition hold you back! At the end of the day, it's all about how you feel about your own car, regardless of what anyone else thinks. We'll be eagerly waiting for one of you to break the orange curse.

We’re excited to see more events pop-up on our newsfeeds, including our upcoming with which kicks off at Road Atlanta in May and I also wanted to share some exciting news and announcements involving our competition.

Our Season 8 Runner-Up, Karisa Andersen, and Season 8 Champion, Kaylee Crayton, have both received their custom awards and presentation checks for their selected charities. Let’s see what Kaylee had to say when she received the custom award. A few days after that video, she handed the $500 donation check to the Bemidji Community Food Shelf, and a local paper in Minnesota, the Bemidji Pioneer, featured and covered the story. Such an awesome moment for her.

As for our Season 8 Champion, Kaylee, she shared her custom printed award, and an overnight shipment from Japan - a fresh set of 57DR wheels in Gen Blue 2 from RAYS Wheels. Kaylee also presented a $2500 donation check to the Parker Senior Center in Arizona, her post caption says it all, “Today I was able to present the $2500 donation to the Parker Senior Center. It wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for everyone who voted for me in the Tuner Battlegrounds contest”. We’re super happy to be a part of her automotive story and journey, and personally I think the color and style of these wheels match perfectly with the Galaxy wrap of her FR-S.
